Well, being an English major, one thing that I do a lot is look up obscure names in literature. You wouldn't believe some of the nice names you can find from the classics.. Milton alone drops twenty names a page into the bucket.

...Cyrus of Texcalon?
Edit: Actually, maybe Smitesmore, or Smitesalot will be more fitting.

I can't believe how hard it is to come up with a decent name, lol. I usually use the name Cyrus, Cirith or Tamziel for elves. I have never had to think of a last name.

You could always add a title to the front of the name, its not extremly unique, but its an option.

Thanks for the post Lunarhound, i mixed those names around and got something that sounded kind of cool. What do you guys think about "Cyrus Ravenclaw"
Edit:Oh noes! I forgot that was some stupid thing from Harry Potter.

Last names are lame? Use your noggin, friend. There are practical reasons behind it. Guild Wars isn't broken into server shards. Everyone around the globe exists in the same online world. If everyone had only one single name, it'd be awfully hard to find one that wasn't taken. Requiring everyone to have two names means that you won't have to spend an hour trying out names only to find that someone else has already taken each and every one.
It has the nice side-effect of enabling you to choose pretty much any first name you want, as long as you can come up with an original last name to go with it. What if I want a character named Peter? Or John? Or any other name like that? Impossible, in most MMORPG's. It's such a common name that there's no way I'd get it before someone else. In Guild Wars, I wouldn't have to worry about that.

If for some reason you can't use Ravenclaw can always try Cyrus Tamziel
